Job Summary

As a Sr. Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and optimization of our complex network infrastructure, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs. This critical role demands a technical expert with a deep understanding of advanced network technologies. Your forward-thinking approach will be instrumental in leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create a robust and future-proof network environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of secure and scalable network architectures.
  • Architect and configure next-generation firewalls and SSE solutions to deliver robust network security, threat protection, and Zero Trust access control.
  • Independently manage and lead network infrastructure projects from conception to successful implementation, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline constraints.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) plans to guarantee network availability during outages.
  • Conduct thorough network capacity planning to anticipate future growth and optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
  • Champion the evaluation and integration of emerging network technologies to stay ahead of the technology curve.
  • Proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement swift resolution strategies.
  • Implement and manage network automation tools to streamline routine tasks and enhance overall network management efficiency.
  • Create and maintain thorough network documentation and procedures for future reference.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by effectively communicating with other IT professionals and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Identify and analyze possible threats and vulnerabilities, embed security standards, and monitor adherence to them.
    • Follow security architecture standards, framework, and guidelines.
    • Emphasizes infrastructure security best practices and ensures adoption across corporate solutions.
  • Participate in infrastructure strategy and continuous improvement planning as needed.
  • On call and after-hours support are required as part of team rotation.
  • Travel approximately 20% to various company locations as needed to provide support.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a network engineer.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing complex network architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced network technologies (SD-WAN, Next-Gen firewalls, network automation, SSE) and strong understanding of core network concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, security).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute disaster recovery planning and implementation initiatives.
  • Expertise in network capacity planning principles and proven ability to optimize resource allocation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify and resolve complex network issues.
  • Superior communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with appropriate systems such as:
    • Routers, switches, WLCs, Firewalls, Network Load Balancers, SD-WAN
    • Hosted and Cloud Solutions: Co-Lo, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
    • Security solutions: Multi-factor Auth, PAM, SIEM, Pen Testing, Vulnerability Scanning.
    • Infrastructure monitoring tools.
  • Proven ability to manage incidents and assess risks.

Additional Skills, Experience, and/or Requirements

  • Network+, Security+, CySA+, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with all levels of management, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Critical thinking skills, including logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and competing priorities with a high degree of flexibility in a constantly fast-evolving environment while meeting deadlines and deliverables.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team atmosphere and being an individual contributor with individual projects, deadlines, and accountabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to modification and changes to project plans demonstrating flexibility to implement new strategies and/or methodologies to accommodate changes.
  • Driven, self-motivated and always seeking ways to improve current security efforts.
