JOB SUMMARY

The IT Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role oversees the entire BI lifecycle, from data collection and warehousing to reporting, analysis, and visualization. The BI Manager will lead a team of IT professionals ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility while forming a data-driven culture within the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive BI strategy that aligns with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead data architecture initiatives, overseeing the design and development of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, and other data platforms.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate BI visualization tools and technologies (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, sales, finance, marketing) to understand their data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions.
  • Manage BI projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Optimize the use of existing BI tools and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data to address business challenges and uncover new opportunities.
  • Champion a data-driven culture, promoting the use of BI insights in everyday business processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BI analysts, developers, and/or data engineers.
  • Oversee data analysis activities, including data mining, trend analysis, and predictive modeling, to extract actionable insights.
  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that provide stakeholders with timely, relevant, and accurate information.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data across all platforms and systems.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for various stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 4 years in a leadership/management role.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team of BI professionals.
  • Deep expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong experience with BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, Infor, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with data governance best practices and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
