JOB SUMMARY

The Infrastructure Operations Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of the various IT systems implemented throughout Rosen’s Diversified, Inc. This role works closely with the Server and Network Engineers, End User Services Team, and Applications Teams to ensure systems are meeting expected uptime and supportability requirements

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fosters communication between Infrastructure and End User Services teams.
  • Follows security architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines. Emphasizes infrastructure security best practices and ensures adoption across corporate solutions.
  • Performs troubleshooting to remedy network and server performance issues.
  • Deploy technology as per written designs in line with RDI and industry standards.
  • Become the subject matter expert on one or more technologies supported by assigned team.
  • Follows project testing and implementation plans and project timelines.
  • Ensures systems are adequately tuned, patched, and monitored to meet design specs at optimal levels.
  • Implements upgrades, patches, new applications, and installation of infrastructure components.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate processes using scripting and automation tools.
  • Presents recommendations to leadership in a clear and professional manner to assist in informed decision making.
  • Relies on experience, and judgment to perform the functions of the job.
  • Incorporates Infrastructure developed strategies into new technology business initiatives.
  • Participates in infrastructure strategy planning as needed.
  • Analyze existing infrastructure designs and strategies to ensure they meet the organization’s needs.
  • Evaluate final project outputs for success against project design and build baselines.
  • Recommends, reviews and creates documentation as needed for any new or changed project or technology.
  • Write functional requirements/specifications documents.
  • Leverages proof-of-concept engineering initiatives for system additions or changes.
  • Maintain monitoring systems to support enterprise infrastructure.
  • Participates in capacity and performance management of existing infrastructure.
  • Participates in business continuity and disaster recovery strategy development.
  • Ensure best practices such as backup, anti-virus and other industry standards are followed.
  • Ensures FreshService tickets are processed in a timely manner.
  • Provides third-level technical support and guidance to users.
  • May lead and direct others.
  • Exhibits a wide degree of creativity.
  • Leverage and follow the change management process.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certification(s) in area of specialty is preferred.
  • Associate degree in computer science or in an equivalent area of specialty is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the field or related area.
  • Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in an Infrastructure Support or Service Desk role.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires strong technical aptitude, creativity, and ability to research and solve complex issues.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Experience documenting, project tracking and management reporting.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within IT and Purchasing. Performs varied tasks.
  • Strong technical aptitude, creativity, and ability to research and solve complex issues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team with established standards.
  • Experience or exposure to appropriate systems such as:
    • Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory domains
    • Microsoft Azure: Entra ID, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Enterprise Applications
    • Virtualization Platforms: VMware 7.0, Azure Stack HCI
    • Server and Storage hardware solutions: Lenovo, Dell, Cisco, EMC storage, Nutanix
    • Scripting and automation: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure Automation
    • Routers, switches, WLCs, Firewalls, Network Load Balancers
    • Hosted and Cloud Solutions: Co-Lo, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
    • A variety of application solutions (web, database, etc.)
    • Security solutions: Multi-factor Auth, PAM, SEIM, Pen Testing, Vulnerability Scanning
    • Infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Prior experience in DR / Business Continuity planning and exercises is preferred.
  • Exposure to ITIL framework is preferred.
