Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Monitor, manage and maintain day to day activities of Azure and other environments, respond and address system alerts, notifications. Assist with resource provisioning, migration, configurations in Azure.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fosters communication between IT teams.
  • Presents recommendations to leadership in a clear and professional manner to assist in informed decision making.
  • May lead and direct others on projects and technology paths.
  • Follows security architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines. Emphasizes infrastructure security best practices and ensures adoption across corporate solutions.
  • Performs troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance management.
  • Incorporates Infrastructure developed strategies into new technology business initiatives.
  • Researches emerging technologies to assess fit for business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into written designs in line with AFG and industry standards.
  • Develop and review project testing and implementation plans and project timelines.
  • Assess vendor development/test strategies.
  • Recommends, reviews, and creates documentation as needed for any new or changed project or technology.
  • Ensures systems are adequately tuned, patched, and monitored to meet design specs at optimal levels.
  • Implements upgrades, patches, new applications, and installation of infrastructure components.
  • Leverages proof-of-concept engineering initiatives for system additions or changes.
  • Leverage and follows the change management process.
  • Reviews and participates in business continuity and disaster recovery strategy development.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certification(s) in area of specialty is preferred.
  • Associate degree in computer science or in an equivalent area of specialty is required.
  • Bachelor degree in computer science or in equivalent area of specialty is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in the field or related area.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as an Infrastructure Administrator.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a team lead or project management is preferred.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong technical aptitude, creativity, and ability to research and solve complex issues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work both alone and within a team and established standards.
  • Experience or exposure to appropriate systems such as:
    • Cloud Services: Microsoft Azure preferred.
    • Azure EntraID and on-prem Active Directory.
    • Windows Server operating systems, including Server Core.
    • Microsoft AVDS and RDS.
    • M365, Teams, and other Microsoft platforms administration.
    • Advanced understanding of Microsoft licensing.
    • Intune.
    • Virtualization Platforms: Azure Stack HCI, VMware, Hyper-V.
    • Server and Storage hardware solutions: SANs, servers, backup appliances.
    • Knowledge of scripting, emphasis on PowerShell.
    • Security solutions: IAM, Multi-factor Auth, PAM, SEIM, Pen Testing, Vulnerability Scanning.
  • Experience with vendor management is desired.
  • Prior audit experience is desired. Examples: SOX, SOC1, ISO, PCI, HIPPA.
  • Prior experience in DR / Business Continuity planning and exercises is desired.
  • Proficiency in ITIL Framework is desired.
