JOB SUMMARY

 

The IT Application Database Administrator collaborates with teammates, decision makers, system owners, and end users to help provide viable, secure, and efficient databases. This includes forming design plans and maintaining and communicating database strategies between business units and Information Technology Teams.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, design, develop, and deploy new databases and maintain existing databases.
  • Spearhead database design sessions to prototype new database strategies that enhance business processes, operations, and information flow.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing databases and develop improvement strategies.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth performance testing and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain data backups, data restorations, and high availability systems.
  • Collaborate with the security team on database security strategies.
  • Assist with orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems and mentor junior staff.
  • Confirm compatibility and interoperability of databases.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of RDI technical system standards.
  • Assist peers with increasing professional technical skill set(s).
  • Take technical ownership of assigned systems.
  • Planning, designing, developing, and deploying new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or in area of specialty is preferred.
  • Certification(s) in area of specialty is a plus.
  • Database Administration experience:
    • SQL Server 2008,2012,2016,2019
      • Maintenance, Log Shipping, Replication.
    • System analysis and design experience.
    • Other data storage technologies
      • DB2 (+)
  • SQL, XML, JSON
  • Azure platform
  • C# (+), VB (+), ASP.NET(+), MVC (+)
  • JavaScript
  • GIT & GIT Hub (+)
  • Microsoft Azure DevOps (+)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

  • APIs & Integrations (SOAP, REST).
  • Experience with Infor Applications and tools, including Infor Mongoose. Epicor

  • Familiar with standard Business & IT concepts, practices, and procedures.  Willing to perform a variety of tasks. 
  • Experience within manufacturing environments specific to process manufacturing.
  • Ability to work a low volume, rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to travel to our IT Offices in Green Bay periodically and to other locations pending business needs.
  • Working knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
